WeBridge Community Services Summer Camp 2026 - Volunteer Application Form

Position: Volunteer

Date: Summer 2026 (July 6th to August 7th)


Job Purpose

To provide all day camp participants with a positive summer camp experience, while developing leadership and other valuable skills for future employment and educational opportunities!


Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Provide fun, safe and healthy experiences for children in the program

  2. Exhibit positive and professional behaviour with all participants, parents and co-workers

  3. Provide daily support to Camp Coordinator, Assistant Coordinators of Summer Camps and Counsellors

  4. Acknowledge role as a leader within the day camp program by modeling appropriate behaviour, acting as a good role model and maintaining a positive attitude

  5. Participate fully and assist staff in the implementation of camp activities

  6. Assist with monitoring child interaction and provide guidance to ensure the well-being of campers in consultation with the Camp Counsellors

  7. Assist camp staff in the implementation of camp activities and clean-up

  8. Assist in maintaining safety and cleanliness of the camp environments

  9. Comply with all expectations outlined in training, including all associated training documents (ie. Volunteer declaration, etc.)

  10. Lead one game and one song with the assistance of the Camp Counsellors, per week of volunteer placement


Qualifications

  1. Must be a minimum of 14 years old

  2. Must have transportation to and from camp sites

  3. Must obtain a Vulnerable Sector Screening from local police department upon submission of application


Job Skills

  1. Identifies the needs and wants of children as a priority and responds in an effective and timely manner

  2. Considers health and safety of self and campers as a top priority

  3. Have skills or interests that may relate to camp; crafts, sports, aquatics, outdoor education etc.


Working Conditions and Placement Location

Camp settings may include various conditions: outdoor environments, indoor spaces, lakes, swimming pools, skating rinks, field trips and park settings
