On December 7, 2025, WeBridge Community Services hosted a heartwarming End-of-Year Christmas Celebration for our seniors aged 50 and above. With over 70 people in attendance, the event was a beautiful reflection of community, culture, and gratitude—a truly memorable way to close out the year.
The celebration began around 3:00 PM, with the room coming alive through an engaging live band music session as seniors arrived and settled in. Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Music is Good, an initiative supported by the London Arts Council, our seniors were treated to exceptional live performances featuring a blend of classic Christmas songs and timeless favourites, thoughtfully tailored to reflect the diverse cultural backgrounds represented.
The formal program opened with welcome remarks and a message from our Board of Directors, setting the tone for the afternoon and highlighting the purpose of gathering—to celebrate life, community, and the impact of meaningful connection. One of the most touching moments followed shortly after, as the seniors themselves led a musical presentation of “Goodness of God” by CeCe Winans. Their heartfelt performance filled the room with worship, joy, and deep emotion.
Guests then enjoyed a time of fellowship over delicious, carefully prepared meals, accompanied by continued live music from the wonderful LEA Music Band. After the meal, we were honoured to welcome Irene Morah, a former program facilitator, as our guest speaker. She delivered a powerful and culturally grounded message focused on family connections and gratitude—values deeply rooted in Afrocentric culture and central to the mission of our Seniors Day Program.
A particularly meaningful segment followed, as seniors took turns sharing how WeBridge and the Seniors Day Program have impacted their lives. Testimonies highlighted reduced loneliness, increased social engagement, new friendships, skill development, and a renewed sense of purpose and belonging. These reflections powerfully affirmed the importance of creating spaces where seniors feel seen, supported, and celebrated.
To recognize their commitment and participation throughout the year, certificates and gift items were presented to all seniors in attendance. The program concluded with closing remarks from a Board Director, followed by more music, dancing, and joyful fellowship. The evening ended with a celebratory toast—honouring how far the seniors have come and welcoming the New Year with hope and gratitude.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the City of London and Music is Good for making this celebration possible. Your continued support allows us to create meaningful experiences that enrich the lives of our seniors. We look forward to strengthening this partnership and continuing to be a blessing to our senior community.
